[ log: madoka&edgeworth; community shenanigans ]

[ for reasons known only to the community itself, it's apparently decided that now is a perfect time for a costume party. a costume party with a twist, that is, and that twist would be that it's a themed costume party.

the theme is that there's a simulated murder mystery for the guests to solve, Cluedo-style. go figure.

Madoka has managed to get separated from the people she was with, and in the absence of knowing where else to go is making her way along one of the corridors of the mansion the community's transported them to this time, trying to get back to the main dining room where all the food was laid out.

needless to say, she's mostly just succeeding in getting very lost. ]

[murder mystery games aren't very interesting to a man who helps solve murders for a living. if Edgeworth must waste his time at the community's latest party, he'd much rather spend it exploring the beautiful Gothic mansion they've been transported to. which is obviously what he's doing. it couldn't possibly be that he's gotten himself lost as well.]

[except he perks up awfully quickly at the sight of someone else coming down the corridor. his interest doesn't even dwindle when he sees it's some young girl he doesn't know. he pauses in the hallway and nods politely, all feigned casualness.] Good evening.

[ she's so caught up in looking at the decor around her and wondering if she should have taken a right rather than a left at the last turn that she almost jumps when the man greets her. as it is, she still starts a little, but recovers quickly, looking sheepish. ]

Oh! Good evening. I didn't expect to see anyone else down here, aha...

[samuraiprosecutor]

That makes two of us. [quick flash of a subtle smile.] That's why I'm here, actually. I'm not what you might call a social animal.

[stillneedawish]

Oh, really? [ she smiles back, a little more at ease now. ] Mm, I guess the community's surprise parties really aren't for everyone, right?

[samuraiprosecutor]

The community's parties aren't for anyone but the community. It's just that some members tolerate them better than others. [Is that bitterness? From Edgeworth? Of course not!]

[He looks the girl over more carefully.] I don't believe I've seen you posting before. Have you been on the community long?

[stillneedawish]

Um, not too long, I guess. Let me think... it must have been almost a year by now. Which, well, I suppose it isn't very long at all compared to some people, right?

[samuraiprosecutor]

[eyes widen] A year? I'm surprised I've managed to miss you that long... But then, I suppose it's been a long time since I followed the community very closely.

[stillneedawish]

[ she laughs a little, nervously. ] Oh, well, I don't really post very often, and I'm sure what I have to say isn't really that eye-catching... and well, there are a lot of people posting! So, it probably isn't too surprising...

[ ... and she's rambling. let's stop that. ] Ah, I'm Madoka Kaname! It's a pleasure to meet you!
