[ The thing about the Medium is that after a while, you sorta stop questioning most of the things that happen in it. Time travel? It's Tuesday. Paradox clones? Happens all the time. Sentient, not-very-intelligent amphibious or reptilian natives? Standard. So if there's suddenly a tear in the fabric of reality, a way for people from other Earths that haven't been destroyed by meteors, to get into the game from the outside - well. It's probably a deliberate glitch or easter egg put into the game by Skaia for some unfathomable reason. Or a deliberate hack or sabotage, but that's a much less comforting option.

Either way, there's a way into LOLAAK now and Peri could hop through whenever she wanted, if she felt that way inclined. There's a light breeze blowing across the planet just like always, although every so often a stronger gust of wind'll threaten to knock you clean off your feet. Castiel's house - complete with the ongoing building project that's turning it into a bit of an odd-shaped skyscraper by now - isn't all that far from the opening, and Cas himself...

... uh, well, he's currently tied up a couple of feet or so away from his house trying to convince one of the chameleon locals that his bedsheets aren't for use as a cloak (or at least not till he's got a look at the captcha code for it so he can make himself some new ones, anyways). Yep. Average day. ]

[fiiiiiine. But just you wait until she goes on her robot stomping on schools rampage.]

Alright, then. [Think think.] Probably out here, 'cause of the light. You ready? Might get a bit hot, fair warning.

I outlived death by meteors. I don't think heat'll be too much of a problem. [ matter-of-fact and with the slightest touch of dry humour. bring on your crazy heat shields. ]

[Blink.] Yeah, there's a point.

Alright, here we go.

[She doesn't do that stupid psychic hands to temples thing. Puts her hands on her hips, though. There's a thin blue aura/film around a bubble around him, which gets orange-y glowy on the inside. There's a few tiny holes in it, here and there, but only at the poles. It's a bit warmer in there, but not too bad. Also, you're probably seeing some slightly fragmented light, Cas.]

[ Whoa. Okay. He wasn't expecting the shield to form around him, but he'll go with it, and will just be getting a good look at this bubble-thing he's now encased in. Because even with some of the weirder stuff he's been starting to see since getting into the Medium, this? Is still new. And he'll admit, it's kind of awesome. Even the weirdly fragmented light is pretty impressive, because it'd just feel like a cop-out if everything looked exactly as it did outside of the bubble-shield. ]

How did you do that?

[Of course it has to be around Cas. She's kind of used to making small shields by now. Nothing this major, just enough to use as makeshift sunblock. She looks really proud of herself, but she's gotta concentrate to keep it up, so she's trying to keep doing that. Plus, from out here she can tell where the holes in the bubble are so she can repair 'em in a jiffy.]

Dunno. Kinda just comes to me. [A bit of a shrug.] It's to do with the stuff in the air.

Like oxygen and nitrogen, you mean?

[ Hey, science class does teach you something! ... and the copious amounts of science fiction. Those help too. ]

The second one. I can kinda, you know, screw around with it and make that shield thingy happen.

[She actually knows how it works. But she doesn't like saying it out loud. It doesn't sound like her that way. But it fades away, not even with a pop, because she figures the demonstration's over now.]

Pretty awesome, yeah?

I see. [ oh the light show vanished. oh well, that was still incredibly impressive, and he nods slightly. ]

It was.

[She gives a mock bow.] Thanks, mate.

So, d'you have any clue what you can do yet?

[ small frown as he starts leading them back to the house. ] Not really. My title's apparently the "Knight of Mind" but even without not knowing exactly what mind powers entail, that combination seems a little... esoteric.

Aw, that sucks. [Think think.] Well, you can't read minds, 'cause that'd be a bit obvious. Yeah?

[Following following.] Wait, what's a title supposed to do?

Just give us clues as to what our powers are, I think. For example, Sam's the Seer of Time, so as well as being able to time travel he can sort of... see the different timelines that might happen, I think. I dunno. He was in first, so he has an head start over the rest of us anyway.

[ beat. ] And no, I don't think I can read minds.

Knight of Mind, that's you?

Well, knights've got swords and shields, right? So, maybe if someone tries to mind whammy you, you can tell them to piss off?

Maybe. That's as good a guess as any. I suppose whatever it is I'm supposed to do is probably more combat-orientated.

[ oh look here's a front door, leading as they tend to do into a porch and beyond that a living room! which actually looks... pretty damn normal. y'know, other than the giant Weird Looking Machine.inc sitting slap bang in the middle of the sofas and days-old magazines. A couple more of those chameleons are poking at it curiously. ]

Probably, yeah. Do you get into fights a lot with 'em?

[OOoooh weird looking machine. Going to be all curious poking at it now. Well, not actually poking. But that's the general idea. Oh, and chameleons too! They actually seem kind of nice.]

And this is that alchimater thing you mentioned?

Well, I get into a lot of fights. But mysterious powers aren't really involved.

[ He glances at the machine, watching her metaphorically join the chameleons in poking at it. ] Hm? No, that's the cruxtuder, though since you need it for the alchemiter to work in the first place, it probably sort of counts.
