[Ventus jumped off his glider and removed his armour with his usual grin as he ran towards his twin.]

Hey Roxas, look! I got it!

[He pulls out what looks like one of Luxord's cards and hands it over to him.]

Finally managed to get some off Mickey so now we can all go. Got one for Axel and Xion too.

[And more besides, but Roxas is still unsure of Saix so Ven decided not to mention him.]

[ look. look!! it'd be weird for you too if the same guy who'd made you and your best friend feel worthless so many times was suddenly, like... all up on your clock tower and also living with you. Roxas knows that a lot has changed, that the whole situation is way beyond complicated, and that he and Xion owe a lot of their return to Isa pulling strings behind the scenes, but... when people aren't messing with it left and right, Roxas also has a long memory.

he's working on it, okay. he wants this to work.

which is why Ven suddenly showing up with the Disney Town passes he's been promising to get ahold of in the heartsquad group chat for weeks is probably a good thing. distractions are good!! ]

It's still so weird that you call him Mickey. [ HE'S... THE KING... ]

--wait, go? You mean right now?

[Ven just shrugged. He'd been introduced to him as Mickey and would always call him so unless told, or asked, otherwise. Why should him being a King matter to Ven if it obviously didn't bother Mickey or anyone else enough to mention it to Ven?]

Well, yeah. We can go and see how the place has changed. I only went to the Castle which I'd never been to before. When we come back and give the passes to everyone else, we'll already know the best places to go!

[He was super excited for them to go scout out the place together. Though he was starting to get the feeling that Roxas wasn't as excited to have a twin as he was.]

[ it's nothing personal, Ven. just when you've already spent pretty much your entire existence being weighed and measured against the person you came from (even if he's the best possible Other ever and Roxas would fight people over that if it came to it), finding yet another living reminder that nothing about your existence is original isn't the most exciting thing in the world.

but!! that is not Ven's fault!! and he really is excited for this, huh... it's kinda endearing. a lot endearing.

even so, Roxas has gotta tease him a little. ]

What if I'd said I had homework, huh? [ HE DOESN'T but that is not the point here ] Actually, I've never been to that world at all, so it'll all be new for me.

[ visiting while being inside Sora's heart doesn't count. most things from that time are... really hazy for him. ]

So we're doing recon?

[And Ven just grinned wider. Because he was really starting to get to know everyone for real, and not just from his dreams. Roxas wasn't the only one with strange memories after all.]

If you want to call it that. I've already sent Chirithy on ahead while I came back with the passes. So let's go!

[ ... okay he is a pretty bad liar. you can have this one, Ven. ]

Okay, okay! [ JEEZ... ] You really did get this whole thing planned out, didn't you.

Disney Town is one my most favourite memories and I wanted to share that with all my new friends! Of course I've planned it all out.

[It had taken a while to get the passes to make sure they had no excuse not to join him. Even if some of them still needed help getting from world to world. And once he'd convinced the group from Twilight Town, then he could bring back their other friends to the festival.]

You'd better hold on tight. We really need to teach you how to make a Glider with your own Keyblades.

[Ven slapped on his armour and climbed aboard his glider, waiting for his twin to climb aboard afterwards.]

[ There's maybe been talk about a world involving time resetting every so often, with some concern that portals might have some play in it. And when it comes to portals and time-travel, well.

One probably can't be too careful. This world has some manner of darkness to it, though right now, Roxas may only find the only usual thing to be some girl with her hood tugged down low over her eyes almost colliding with him. ]

Oh-- sorry, sorry! I'm just kinda--

[ Any explanation is halted in the swelling of excited voices rising up like an ocean wave, babbling about an idol, and "I swear I saw Momo-chan!!"

The girl herself sucks in a shaky breath. ]

Uh. Sorry, I've got to go!

[ with all his new friends, huh? sometimes, Roxas can't believe how many friends he has now. it's more than he ever could have hoped for. ]

Well, if it's one of your favourites - then I can't wait to see it.

[ he smiles, but-- ah. seeing Ven's armour appear around him in a flash of light reminds him. ]

Oh, hang on, we gotta stop off back at the apartment first. My coat's still back there.

[ it's weird that he actually has to think about that sort of stuff now - protection from the Lanes Between. weirder to think that that's really what the coats were for this whole time. he clambers aboard Ven's glider. ]

You think they'd be okay with teaching me?

[ he's not saying that he doesn't want to learn, because man does he ever wanna learn. sometimes he actually misses the convenience of being able to open a dark corridor whenever he feels like it. ]

[Ven's all ready to go until Roxas says he has to stop at the apartment first. It really takes the wind out of his sails and he sighs. Then, once Roxas is holding on, he glides through the sky of Twilight Town and stops by the apartment he knows Roxas lives in now.]

'Course they'll teach you! You're a Keyblade wielder. You've even got two of them! Now hurry up and get your coat.

[While Roxas is gone, Ven reopens the portal to Disney Town so he's ready when Roxas gets back. So he's excited!]

[ one certainly cannot ever be too careful when it comes to portals and time-travel, given literally everything that happened the last time that was involved. Roxas still isn't sure why he's the one who's been picked to check this world out, but he's happy enough to do some recon work if it helps. Riku and Aqua have their hands full enough with all the other stuff that being the only Masters left around entails.

so far things seem pretty normal though? sure, there's definitely some kinda darkness here - he can feel it. but there hasn't been a sign of any Heartless yet as he's been wandering whatever city this is--

wow, that was close. Roxas is saved from a collision by his reflexes, jumping back and blinking at someone who is giving off some strong impressions of being chased and absolutely not wanting to be found.

... well, he might not know why everyone in the street is so excited all of a sudden, but this definitely counts as weird. ]

Wait. [ okay, seriously, why is literally the entire street acting like that. it puts him on edge. ] You want some cover?

I know that, but - [ but as steadfast and vocal as Roxas is about his right to exist, it still feels different sometimes in a way he's not sure anyone outside of Xion and Namine could ever really get? but he's not sure how to put that into words and oh it doesn't matter they're here at the apartment now. ] --Never mind. I'll be right back.

[ he rolls his eyes at Ven as he hops off the glider, dashing inside to grab the black coat that's balled up in a crumpled mess at the very back of his wardrobe. it only takes a couple minutes; soon he's heading back out the door again, haphazardly pulling the coat on over his normal outfit as he goes. ]

Fast enough for you? [ he hops back up behind Ven and fumbles with the zipper until it's more or less closed up right. ] Man, I can't believe I used to practically live in this thing.

[Ven said nothing in response, simply checked Roxas was holding on before heading for the portal and into the Lanes Between. Moments later, he emerged into Disney Town and landed them on the rooftop by the Raceway. Hopping down from the Glider, it returned to his hand as his Keyblade before disappearing altogether along with his armour leaving Roxas to look at the usual Ventus with his usual grin.]

Welcome to Disney Town! Ready for the tour?

[ Roxas tugs his hood up just as Ven zooms them through the portal - maximum protection and all - but almost as soon as they're through and off the glider, he's peeling the entire thing off again as fast as he can manage.

man, he really has to find someone who can convince Yen Sid to make him a darkness-repelling outfit that doesn't make him look like he's still working an evil 9-5. ]

Lead the way, I guess. [ he can't help looking around the new world with curiosity, though. ] Is that a racetrack down there?

[Ven jumps down from the roof and heads towards the race track, expecting Roxas to follow.]

Yeah. Chip and Dale run it. There's also the Fruitball Court that way and Ice Cream Beat's over that way. I wonder if they have they have any Double Crunch.

Oh and then there's the secret pinball game back up through the door on the roof. Pick your preference, little brother.

[ luckily for you, Ven, Roxas is no stranger to a] overexcited people and b] jumping off of high places. and so he follows along with only the slightest delay, taking in the sounds and sights around him and letting Ven's tour guide spiel wash over him. at least until - ]

"Little brother"?

[ is that really what Ven's going with? ]

[Ven just continued to grin, enjoying be back in Disney Town again and with someone new. He feel like he needed to explained how Roxas was his little brother. They were twins and he was the older one.]

Maybe we should wait on the race track until you can create a glider of your own. I'll give you a game of Fruitball though.

[ sorry, Ven, but you're not getting away with not explaining that one!! Roxas is literally like 2 years old and with only the barest grasp on what a family is and how it works!!! ]

Wha-- hey, don't just brush over it like that! What's with calling me little brother?

[Ven slowly slides his arm around the back of his head, almost embarrassed at having to explain. But he does. Still grinning because he loves have a brother.]

Well, aren't we brothers? We look the same and I'm older than you. So you're my little brother. We're all connected through Sora anyway.

Huh?

[ there's a few moments of stunned silence on Roxas's part, during which you can see the gears inside his head spin, spin, spinning as he turns all of that over. yeah, they do look the same. it's impossible not to notice that. the defensive part of Roxas that will be forever tired of being a shadow wants to rear up stung at that, but--

for Ven to take that and say they're brothers, rather than that Roxas is a copy? that's...

Ven and Sora really are the same sort of person, huh. ]

... I never thought of it like that before.

[Ven waited as Roxas seemed to process what he'd said. He'd never thought it wouldn't be obvious to everyone else. Their looks were, after all. Either way, it didn't seem like Roxas was offended by it so it was all good, right?]

Huh. I've never not thought about it like that. I guess I thought it was obvious and didn't really need to explain it. We're all one big family really. Connected by Sora in our hearts forever.

[ Roxas lets out a huff, shaking his head. ]

Obvious for you, maybe. Make sure the rest of us get the memo.

[ he reaches over to prod Ven's arm playfully. one big family, though. that makes him feel warm inside. once upon a time he would have resented the idea of being connected to Sora, by Sora, but... things are different now. ]

... I think I like the sound of it, though.

I'll make sure to explain it more thoroughly to Xion then.

[He prods Roxas back before jumping backwards out of range, remembering when he and Terra played like this. It was good memory and he was glad to be making more.]

Good. Because I wasn't going to stop.

... I mean, I'm not really about to say no at a time like this, but are you sure about that? You might really get caught up in it like this.

[ She's trying to spare you, fellow blond. But also she's maybe ducking a little more behind him as the crowd's clamoring gets louder and a little more manic. Geez. This stupid eye ability is going to be the death of her, she's pretty sure. ]

[ he swats at Ven just to make a point, even though he knows he won't actually hit him. can't be the first one to give up, after all. ]

Right. [ honestly, Ven... ] But just so you know, I'm not changing the name of the group chat.
